Overview

What is Financial Advisory?

Managing your personal finances is one of the most important things you’ll ever do — yet most people never get professional advice until a major life event forces them to. Whether you’re planning for retirement, coming into a lump sum, protecting your family or thinking about passing on your wealth, the decisions you make now will shape your financial future for decades.

Crestlyn’s financial advisors are 100% independent. We have no ties to any bank, insurer or investment house, which means we recommend products and strategies solely because they’re right for you — not because of commissions or preferred supplier arrangements.

We take a whole-of-life approach to financial planning, building a comprehensive picture of where you are today and mapping out a clear, actionable plan to get you where you want to be. And we’re with you at every review, adjusting the plan as your life and circumstances change.

We spend time getting to know your full financial picture — income, assets, debts, protection, goals and concerns. This meeting is free and without obligation.

Financial Analysis

We analyse your current position, model different scenarios for your future and identify gaps in your planning — particularly around pensions, protection and investment.

Your Financial Plan

We present a written financial plan with clear, prioritised recommendations. We explain everything in plain English and answer every question before you make any decision.

Implementation & Annual Review

Once you're happy, we implement the agreed plan on your behalf. Each year we review your progress, adjust for any life changes and ensure your plan remains on track.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much should I be contributing to my pension?
The Revenue maximum is age-related — ranging from 15% of net relevant earnings at age 30 to 40% at age 60 and over. However, the right contribution depends on your retirement goals, other assets and income. We’ll model your specific situation and tell you exactly what’s needed to achieve the retirement lifestyle you want.
We only recommend regulated funds from authorised investment managers. All funds are held in your name, separately from the fund provider’s own assets, and are subject to the oversight of the Central Bank of Ireland. We also diversify across multiple asset classes and managers to reduce concentration risk.
The honest answer is: now. The earlier you start, the more time compound growth has to work in your favour. But it’s never too late — clients in their 50s and 60s can still make significant improvements to their retirement outcomes with the right advice. If you’ve been putting it off, a free consultation costs nothing.
We are fully independent and whole-of-market. We can be remunerated by a combination of fee and/or commission depending on your preference, and we will always disclose exactly how we are paid before you engage us. Our recommendations are never influenced by product provider relationships.
